The gurus are not being honest when they say you can join the latest automatic powerline system and then sit back and watch the latest Lost episode on TV while you get rich. That's not exactly what they say, but you get the idea. They would have you believe that you just have to buy in to their expensive system and then the system will do everything for you.
There is one major problem with this picture though. When you tell someone that they don't have to do anything, that the "system" is going to do everything for them, then they do exactly what is expected of them. They do nothing. The thousands of people who join the system looking for a quick shortcut to their dreams, all do nothing, and within a short period of time they almost all drop out.
There is one thing that the gurus have right though. They know something that they are not telling you. It is a very simple, yet extremely powerful concept, and they are keeping it to themselves.
Let me tell you how I found out about it... A few years ago, I was struggling, trying everything I could think of to build a network marketing business. I had almost given up and resigned myself to working in a job for the rest of my life. I really hated the thought of my hard work helping to make someone else rich. So I kept searching for a way to make it work. But, it seemed like every time I made some progress something would happen and I'd be right back in square one. I'd spend weeks sponsoring and training someone and then someone else in my small group would quit.
Then one day, I stumbled upon this very simple concept. It happened while I was speaking with a prospect. Suddenly, it was like a light turning on. It was one of those ah-ha moments. I understood something that I hadn't even thought of before.
